I absolutely love shooting wedding weekends! They’re hands down my favorite. If you’re thinking about inviting friends and family, whether it’s a small group of 10 or a larger crowd of 40, a multi-day celebration is definitely the way to go. It gives you the chance to unwind, soak it all in and even sneak away for private vows or portraits, just the two of you.

If you’re thinking about hosting a wedding weekend, this blog delves deeper into the experience, focusing on AutoCamp Joshua Tree as your Micro Wedding Venue in the desert.

If you’re dreaming of a Joshua Tree elopement, feel free to take a look at my AutoCamp Elopement Guide for Joshua Tree, that is centered around building an Elopement Day with AutoCamp Joshua Tree as your basecamp.

Joshua Tree Wedding Venue

Joshua Tree is a go-to spot for elopements, but hosting a larger celebration can be tricky with the stricter rules at Airbnbs. Luckily, there are a handful of beautiful venues in Joshua Tree. Auto Camp stands out as a wonderful choice where you can host all of your guests on property, plus it’s absolutely stunning!

In addition to having all of your favorite people staying in the same place with you, Autocamp offers 4 event gathering spaces to choose from at Auto Camp Joshua Tree: The Clubhouse, Mojave Dome, Desert Flat and the Ocotillo – giving you options when planning your Joshua Tree Micro Wedding.

AutoCamp Joshua Tree Event Spaces

The ClubHouse at AutoCamp Joshua Tree

The Clubhouse at all AutoCamp locations is technically the lobby, but let’s just say these are beautifully curated to reflect the surrounding area! This is also the only air conditioned gathering space at the Joshua Tree location, so if you are getting married in one of the warmer months – this may be a great option!

The Mojave Dome at AutoCamp Joshua Tree

The Mojave Dome is an open air concept space, adjacent to the Clubhouse. Great for a bit of shade and very functional when paired with the Desert Flat.

The Desert Flat at AutoCamp Joshua Tree

An outdoor event space, where you can dream up how to design the space for your guests to gather. A beautiful deck for dinner, with incredible sunset views! Also a lovely space for community hangouts, pop up a few outdoor fire pits with a comfy lounge set up.

The Ocotillo Event Space at AutoCamp Joshua Tree

Nestled amongst the desert vegetation, and in between the airstreams. This space gives you AutoCamp Wedding vibes while having a functional and beautiful setting for your desert wedding ceremony or a dinner under the stars.

AutoCamp Joshua Tree Property Buyout

Although the individual gathering spaces at AutoCamp can be rented separately, opting for a complete buyout of the property provides you and your guests with a private and exclusive experience for your Joshua Tree Wedding Weekend. The Joshua Tree Property features 47 airstreams.

With nearly everyone flying in for their wedding, Jessie and Greg opted to buy out AutoCamp Joshua Tree for a multi day celebration outdoors. The outdoors, from surfing to camping is a large part of their lifestyle and AutoCamp offers an ideal space to host in the outdoors while still providing comfort for all guests. Each couple and family had their own airstream and were able to attend a weekend full of festivities, all hosted on site at AutoCamp.

Wedding Weekend at Joshua Tree AutoCamp

Planning a wedding weekend is a great way to keep the vibes of your celebration laid back as well as creating a space to connect with your favorite people. Choosing AutoCamp as your micro wedding venue is a great opportunity to have all of your guests stay on site and for you to host multiple events throughout the weekend – from an intimate welcome dinner to poolside hangs, a group hike in the park or coffee and brunch the day after, the options are endless.

Wedding Welcome Party

Kick off your Wedding Weekend with a Welcome Party for all of your guests! This can be a much more relaxed gathering than a rehearsal dinner. Grab pizzas from a local place or bring in a taco truck for dinner and spend the evening gathered around the fire catching up with all of your favorite people.

Guests began showing up at AutoCamp Joshua Tree on Friday afternoon to kick off Jessie + Greg’s wedding weekend. They chose to have a private Ketubah Signing with just their families before joining the fun at the Clubhouse and Mohave Dome later that evening. Going for a multi-day celebration gives you more chances to involve your loved ones and add personal touches, like a private vow exchange, a peaceful sunrise photo session, or spending your wedding morning together writing vows and enjoying coffee.

Getting Ready at AutoCamp

AutoCamp provides a lovely venue with unique spaces designed for your wedding weekend. The rooms, aka airstreams, can accommodate 2-3 people comfortably. It’s a good idea to get ready with a small group and then join the larger party outside, especially if you’re having a wedding party.

This doesn’t apply to many of the AutoCamp Locations, however, the Joshua Tree property is located in town, with many beautiful Airbnbs within a 10 minute radius if you require extra space for you and your friends to prepare for the day. This is what Jessie opted for!

Wedding Ceremony in the Ocotillo Space at Auto Camp

With the sun dipping behind you, the Ocotillo Space is a beautiful ceremony location, with Joshua Trees, desert flora and airstreams sprinkled behind you.

Joshua Tree Wedding Reception

Jessie and Greg utilized the Ocotillo Space for a beautiful dinner under the stars.  As the sun dipped below the horizon, guests shared a delightful Mediterranean meal crafted by The Dez, a local Joshua Tree Restaurant. Their celebration continued with live music in the Mojave Dome, lasting well into the night. The guests had a great time hanging out by the fire pits, enjoying s’mores and whiskey, making it a night to remember.
