—About Jess

Funnily enough, I worked documenting the motocross racing industry. I thrived in the adrenaline and fast-paced environment, but truly fell in love with the artistic side of it all, slowing down the motions of the craziness and catching the right angles to best tell the story.

After eight years in the sport, my documentary approach transitioned from two wheels to two humans + their stories. With weddings, I still thrive in that same crazy fast-paced environment but can now feed my romantic side. Because let’s be real -- the only thing on wheels I’m interested in is the camper van I plan to purchase in 2020!

My soul thrives in the great outdoors, the crisp mountain air and barefoot on the coast. Northern California is home, where I was born and raised, a place I never see myself leaving for too long because of that good ol California Sunshine. My favorite days off consist of combinations of yoga, hiking, camping in my tent + exploring the lakes or the coast with Hudson, my rescue pup.

Growing up I always had a camera in hand, everywhere I went. In High School, I spent my years in the Dark Room developing my photos into prints. From there I went on to earn my Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Photography.

Adventuring around California + The west coast

just a girl and her pup

I Enjoy exploring from the cliffs of California’s Central Coast, up into the Mountains of Eastern California, Yosemite + Mammoth Lakes, where I have camped before I can remember.

I'm a proud dog mama - meet Hudson, my rescue pup + favorite adventure partner.

my Favorite activities - Hiking in the hills of the bay area where I call home, summer camping trips to the lake + kayaking, and yoga

I'm a California
girl at heart,
soaking up the sun + always barefoot or wearing my Birks (even in the rain)

When seeing your parents for the first time after getting dressed, time freezes for a minute or two, holding each others hands, barely any words and just truly taking in everything in life that led to standing right there.

No. 1

No. 2

The moment you are officially married and walking back down the aisle hand in hand - the smiles, the high fives, the way you connect with your guests + then glance at each other with that pure joy in your eyes.

No. 3

When we sneak off for portraits, just the two of you, there’s a quiet couple of minutes where I step back for some wide landscape shots and let you soak in each others presence + energy of the day.

No. 4

Toasts - all the smiles, the laughs, the tears are shared in these moments through the words of the dearest people you’ve asked to speak. These moments are so special and paints a picture of who you are individually and together as one.

No. 5

Parent Dances, as classic as these dances are. They are an incredibly special time for your parents and all of those emotions show through.

Favorite Wedding Day Moments

I work in the photo industry and I am picky. Jess exceeded my expectations. She captured all of the moments I requested and more I hadn’t even considered. She was open to suggestions and great with all of the wedding party and guests. Most importantly- the photos she took were AMAZING! She took all of the traditional ones I needed for posterity, but lots of candid, natural shots that really captured the feeling of the day.

It spoke to her experience and talent that Jess felt comfortable in an unpredictable environment when only introduced to the site on the day of. She was professional, joyful, enthusiastic, supportive and fun to work with. As someone who is generally uncomfortable in front of cameras I felt relaxed and at ease with her direction.
