Planning Your Wedding at AutoCamp Joshua Tree
In this section, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know for planning your unforgettable desert wedding at AutoCamp Joshua Tree. From selecting the ideal season, accommodating your guests comfortably, choosing the right vendors, to exploring local spots for that extra touch!
Best Time of Year to Elope in Joshua Tree
Planning your Joshua Tree elopement is all about embracing the desert’s rhythm, and finding that perfect time of year is key to ensuring your day is as serene as the setting. Aim for the milder climates of the spring (March to May) and the fall (September to November), when the weather strikes a perfect balance between warm days and cool evenings. 70s to 80s during the day and 40s to 50s by night.
If you love the warmth of the desert September is just right for you with daytime temps in the 90s, and down to the 60s as the sun dips.
Pro Tip: Joshua Tree, with it’s wide open landscapes, can be a bit windy, especially from March through July. So if you’re dreaming of a serene outdoor ceremony, planning around the wind can make all the difference.
** Also, for those eyeing a spring elopement, keep an eye on the festival dates near Palm Springs. Coachella and Stagecoach can pack the desert, a quick Google check on their schedules can help you dodge the crowds and have the serene, intimate desert wedding you’re envisioning.
Guests Considerations

Tips for a small, intimate gathering vs. a slightly larger event
Whether you’re envisioning an intimate affair or a slightly larger celebration, the key is in the details. For a small gathering, focus on creating personal touches that speak to your journey as a couple. It’s about quality time, shared experiences, and crafting those moments that feel uniquely yours. On the flip side, planning for a few more guests means considering group dynamics, activities that everyone can enjoy, and ensuring there’s space for both togetherness and individual reflection. No matter the size, your event at AutoCamp promises a blend of adventure, intimacy, and unforgettable desert vibes, making every moment count with your closest friends and family by your side.
Deciding to have Ceremony at AutoCamp or in the National Park
Eloping or celebrating with a small group opens up a world of flexible options for where and when your special moments unfold. At AutoCamp Joshua Tree, simplicity meets elegance for on-site ceremonies, the Mojave Dome, Desert Flat, and the Ocotillo are all beautiful spaces for gatherings. Engaging with the AutoCamp team will reveal a variety of options to tailor your day perfectly, especially if you’re including guests.
Alternatively, Joshua Tree National Park offers a breathtaking backdrop for those saying “I do.” Whether it’s an intimate ceremony or a gathering with loved ones, securing a special use permit is essential. The National Park’s website provides comprehensive details on the permit process and suggests scenic locations for your ceremony.
For a truly magical start, consider a sunrise ceremony in the park. The early light casts an unparalleled glow, offering a serene, private atmosphere. This could be a moment for exchanging private vows or heartfelt letters, reserving the formal ceremony for later at AutoCamp with your guests. This approach combines the best of both worlds: the park’s natural beauty and AutoCamp’s convenient, stylish accommodations.
